QuickBooks Pro is a financial accounts package for small or medium sized business.
It handles multi-currency accounting, is multi-company at no extra charge and multi-user ready. QuickBooks has a lovely interface and is an easy to use product packed with functionality.

Whats New in QuickBooks 2016?

A lot of the changes in 2016 occur under the hood. While every data file is different we noticed some changes that we really found useful.

Speed & Handling Larger Data Files

Going back to earlier versions some users reported speed challenges as their data file got larger. There are some things you can do
• Rebuilding your data file regularly
• adding more RAM
• moving to a PC/Laptop with a SSD (Solid State drive)
• making sure that the QuickBooks database manager is running on the fastest PC.
On v2016 our 300MB data file is definitely zipping along. We have quite a large number of customers, items, users and transactions - and have been pleasantly surprised. One reputable QuickBooks advisor suggested that there is a false economy in not upgrading.

Improved File Fix Features

Over the years we came across many users who had forgotten to run data verify and data rebuild. When a customer encountered data corruption issues an IT team would would wade through the QBWIN.LOG to find and hopefully fix any corruption. We are very pleased with the data repair improvements in v2016. There are now pre-flight reports when you run a FILE - UTILITIES - VERIFY of what QuickBooks will be able to fix. You also get a report of what it fixed after.

Now in v2016 you can hit F2 and there is brand new button to show a report on your last verify. No more wondering.

Now in QuickBooks you can log last call event, last document sent, last correspondence. You can even set follow up actions/ to dos. While it's not a fully fledged CRM system - it's certainly offers a lot of what's really required.

Now you can attach documents (supplier purchase invoice, delivery docket, customer POs) when you enter an invoice or bill in QuickBooks. - New much improved interface

Entering customer and supplier Invoices in QuickBooks is very easy. We like the memorised transaction facility (so you can automate many tasks).

As well as complete time and job-costing accounts, it offers the ability to generate estimates and also a proforma invoice.
There is a great budgeting feature in QuickBooks - backed up by useful variance analysis reports.


QuickBooks brings improved VAT management with a selection of VAT codes for the UK and Ireland as well as the ability to add whatever VAT codes or VAT agency (eg Collector General) that you want.

The layout of templades (PO, Estimates, Invoices, Statements) can be customised easily. If you want you can add your logo or even choose a different invoice format depending on the type of customer you are quoting/selling to.

There is good integration with MS Excel for export and import of data.

This product is ideal for any growing business and very easy to set up. The interface is very intuitive and easy to use. QuickBooks is remarkably flexible (e.g you can delete a transaction) yet at the same time you can lock down specific parts of your accounts (close periods or stop someone from accessing sensitive areas).
